Future Wayne Gretzky?

So despite the fact that we were trying to not have hockey be Ryan's sport/activity of choice, he seems to be drawn to it. (I know you are all thinking he's just living the Canadian dream, but the super early morning practices, $$$$, and the stinky equipment just made basketball and soccer sound so nice...)

He loves to watch it on t.v. and would run for his squeegee (I think that is what he thought they were using for hockey sticks as that is what he uses). Grandma and Grandpa must have decided he needed proper equipment as this is what picture they sent us today.
Look at that form and deep level of concentration through the tongue sticking out. He makes us proud. :)

Belly Pics (finally)

Well I figured I should probably take a few belly pics for Meatball. I'm 26 weeks along now.

This is going to be trouble.

Ryan loves his stool and likes to pull it up to counters, sinks, and apparently now the fridge.

Hmmm, I think I just need to push a couple of these buttons.
And I just need to hold my cup under here and then water will appear - right?

He hasn't quite figured out that he needs to apply pressure and I won't be sharing that tidbit with him. I did give hime some water and he promptly dumped it all over himself.

Valentine's Day 2009

We had a fun Valentine's day at our house yesterday. Ryan came down in the morning to a card, monkey and a balloon at his high chair.
Here he is opening his card from us. It was a big puppy so Ryan immediately started barking at the card.
Both Marc and I had Ryan pick out the cards that he was going to give to us. He had full and total control - we just aimed him at the red cards. For me, he picked out a card entitled, "A Husband's Love" :) He also picked out his own present for me which was an eyeliner pencil. He was quite excited to find pencils at Shoppers! Marc tailored the card to change reference to Mommy instead of Husband. For Marc, he picked out a card completely in Spanish. I'm not sure what it actually said, so I made my own translation for Ryan. Ryan then picked out a devil puppet that makes kissing noises and says, "I love you!" for Marc.

We went to Phetsamone and Anthony's house for dinner and Ryan and Isaac wore their matching shirts from Vancouver. (Not very Valentine-y but cute all the same.)
A sign of the years to come. All the boys were playing video hockey after kicking soccer balls around.
And here I am with that sweetie, Claire. A preview of her with blonde hair.
And finally, in honour of Valentine's day - a heart shaped cherry cheesecake.

Meatball is right on track!

He weighed in today at 1 lb 11 oz. He was folded in half for most of the ultrasound. At one point he scratched his wrist with his toe and yawned at us. :)

I'll upload a picture in a little bit.

He's so patriotic

They told us at the daycare that Ryan was singing "O Canada" all morning. When he got home, Ryan put on this hat and showed us what he could do. (He may have had some help with the hat.)
