Christmas breakfast

Slightly lopsided but made from scratch and with love. Our Christmas Stollen.

More Christmas shots

He went running by the play kitchen that Nana and Papa gave him and all of a sudden we heard, "Oh wow!" and he stopped. :) He was mesmerized.

Ryan and Mommy opening up his stocking in our Christmas pjs.

Daddy snoozing on the couch and Ryan in his glasses waiting for Grandma and Grandpa to come over.

This was the only present he noticed when he came downstairs in the morning. He ran all over the kitchen vacuuming.

Checking out all of the features. :)

Grandma and Grandpa were really good about coming over in their pjs too.

Playing with cars.

Grandpa showing Ryan how to use the measuring tape.

Playing with other gifts.
Playing in the swing at Grandpa and Grandma's house before Christmas dinner.
Ryan trying out some of Claire's toys.

Christmas 2008 - When Santa visits

Apparently, Santa loved Ryan's cookies and milk. The reindeer definitely gnawed at the carrots.
Ryan even got a note from Santa!
The stockings were hung by the chimney (well fireplace) with care
And the Christmas tree had lots of goodies around it.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Ryan ate his late night yogurt snack with the bear who read him "'Twas the Night Before Christmas".
Showing off his new Christmas pajamas from Nana and Papa
When Ryan put out the cookies and carrots for Santa and the reindeer, he decided he needed to perform a little bit of quality control.
Nibbling the carrots
Eating the cookies
And drinking Santa's milk.

When we told him that the milk was for Santa and we gave him his own milk, he decided he needed to double fist the milks.

The only toy that has ever made it into the crib

"Aunt" Amy and Roland gave Ryan some awesome Christmas presents too (everyone is far too generous by the way) and one of them was a Barney phone. Ryan has NEVER taken a toy into his crib at naptime with the exception of Smiley the bear who stays in there. He wouldn't let the phone go. He tucked it in with Smiley. You can see him passed out on Marc's shoulder with the phone in his hand.
He also had a lot of fun playing with his blocks and truck.

Grocery shopping

"Aunt" Annette gave Ryan his Christmas present last night and we took it to the store today to try it out. Ryan had a great time pushing his cart in the store but he was very picky about what I was allowed to put in it. Yogurt - no, raisins - yes!

An action shot.

A self portrait apparently

Ryan and I were colouring the other day and I doodled this. Ryan thinks this looks exactly like me as everytime the page passes he yells out, "Mommy!" Marc finds this hysterical but little does he know what his doodle is going to look like...

Like Father, Like Son

Ryan had his daycare holiday party yesterday and he had a great time at the potluck buffet. (Shockingly, that is not where I was going with him taking after Marc.) He went down for his nap but apparently kept coughing through it so didn't sleep very much. When all the other kids had woken up, Ryan was still down for the count sleeping. Marc arrived to find Ryan sleeping on his mat in the corner (bum in the air) completely oblivious to the chaos of several little kids running around him. His one little friend even went over and patted his back to make sure he was okay but he slept through that too.

This is how I know he is just like his dad as Marc can sleep through anything and is the King of naps.

School Photos :)

For a smiley kid normally, it was somewhat of a surprise to see his sultry eyed school photo.
His class picture just cracks us up. The fact that he even has one amuses us and the fact that they ALL look so serious is even funnier.

Some more Christmas shots

The tree finally decorated.

Ryan helping with the beaded garland.

Helping Daddy put together the tree.

Taking the pieces out of the box.

A Clemente family shot
And our little family.

Outakes from the holiday shoot

Coming soon to a mailbox near you will be the good version of this picture, but this one just cracks us up.

Someone went to visit Santa!!

For a smiley kid he just won't smile when someone else is taking his picture anymore. He was perfectly content to sit on Santa's lap though.
