Christmas in California

Now that Christmas is over, I have a second to update with some pictures of Christmas. Poor Ryan has the worst cold he has ever had complete with puking, fever and stuffiness. We are hoping it is gone before we fly home.

This is from Christmas morning. I am playing in my niece's new little hideaway.

My new nephew, who was born on the 12th.
Another shot of my niece looking like Cindy-Lou Who.
Baby Santa #1
Baby Santa #2
Some other shots of Ryan:

Crawling takes a lot of work - you may lose your pants and your shoe in the process. It is also quite a feat if you can make it across the kitchen with your measuring cup.

Looking cute on Christmas Eve.
Smiling after shoving a whole teething wheel into his mouth. (It's pretty much all he will eat right now - that and Cheerios.) This is how he has spent the last few days. Passed out on someone.
And finally, some other Christmas shots:
The Christmas tree - baby proofed from those who like to pick up speed at the prospect of ripping ornaments off of the tree.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
Nana and Papa telling Ryan about the creche and "The Night Before Christmas".
Christmas dinner - the ladies
Christmas dinner - the men

Happy Holidays to all!

It's exciting times for a 9 month old!

We are visiting my parents on the west coast and Ryan has had the opportunity to meet their dog, Frisco - a golden retriever and my sister's two cats. (This is of course on top of meeting his new cousin, but that deserves a separate post with pictures.)

Ryan is mesmerized by the animals. He whips his head around everytime Frisco passes him and think he is just the neatest thing since sliced bread. He tried to touch the cats' tails too.

Ryan is also fascinated by all the things on the walls at my parent's house. (Similar to Marc's parents house and this further reaffirms that Marc and I REALLY need to start decorating our own house if our kid is google-eyed over walls that aren't blank. )

He thinks the fans and all the moving, singing Christmas toys are great too. It's fun to watch him take it all in.

More to come...

My poor baldy

Ryan got his second haircut today and while he isn't quite bald, it is way shorter than we thought it would be.

Here he is playing in the car before he got it cut.

He was so patient until she started cutting it super short - then he got upset.
Here is smiley now. On the bonus side, he won't need a cut for awhile.

A Visit with Santa

Ryan visited Santa at the mall the other day. He couldn't stop looking at him. He was totally fine for the most part and then he burst into tears. We didn't get that picture though.

Snow Day!!!!

We had our first big snowfall last night so today we dressed Ryan in his snowsuit and took him outside to play.

I think we were more excited about this than he was. :)

Showing off his puffy little body.

I was showing him the snow.
Look Dad! Snow!
Marc made a slide for Ryan.
And then we made some Snow Angels. (Admittedly, we moved Ryan's arms and legs. He was too stiff to move.)
Look Ryan - this is how you do it. Dad - I've had enough of this snow.

Look what Santa left in our stocking

Marc's mom made Ryan a stocking for Christmas so Ryan decided to model it for us.
He really liked it.
