Gus is getting the boot!

I had another ultrasound and OB appointment today and we got a definite answer for when Gus is going to make his grand appearance. My fluid level was 10.03 and he weighed 6 lbs 6 oz. The doc said all was good to go ahead for this weekend. I also had an internal which I don't want any of you to have to go through because it hurts like a bitch and which also confirmed I WILL be getting an epidural. :)

I have an appointment at 4:30 on Friday to get the gel to induce me into labour and then I am scheduled for 12:00 the next day to have the baby. (I'm not sure what the 12:00 appointment really means but I am supposed to call in the morning on Sat.)

So Gus will for sure be a March baby and he will be making an appearance this weekend!!!!

My poor poor flowers

A good friend gave me some beautiful flowers the other day and for the life of me, I can't get them to stop trying to escape from the flowerpot.

They have lots of water, they just can't stand up anymore.

Today's OB appointment.

I had another appointment today and the OB said that he was happy with the amnio levels so for the time being we are just going to wait until my ultrasound next week to see if we have do induce or not. If I have to be induced next week, then he is on-call next Sat. so that would be potentially March 3. Other than that we wait and see. I also found out that I was positive for Group B Strep. Nuts.... It means I have to have antibiotics as soon as I go into labour.

There is more info here http://www.dhpe.org/infect/strepb.html As long as I go to the hospital as soon as my water breaks, all will be well.

Another good update :)

I had another ultrasound today and the fluid level increased to 10.86 which is better. The ultrasound doctor said that she thinks I will be good to go until at least 37 weeks which is next Wed. I will know more after my OB appointment tomorrow though. So yay - Gus might still be a March baby yet!

My co-workers are the best!!

Friday was my last day in the office unexpectedly and my amazing co-workers threw me a wonderful baby shower. I was totally surprised and very touched. They gave the baby some money for Toys R'Us and we got the things below. I am so excited about the moses basket. I have been wanting one for awhile and couldn't quite justify it but as a gift it kicks ass!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

More pictures from the shower:

The nursery in progress...

So we are still waiting on the bedding to come in but for the most part the nursery is good to go.
Here is the bedding that we went with - Cloverfields by Kidsline

And then here is what the nursery looks like currently:

We need to put the picture that is on that bookshelf up on the wall and then when we get the bedding we are going to put the bumper pads up on the wall as decoration. The spot next to the bookshelf is where the glider will go.

The diaper bag in the last picture is almost packed and ready to go too.

Our new bed!

After years of sleeping on my double bed (from 3rd year undergrad) we finally upgraded to a king size bed! It was like a little bit of heaven last night. While the delivery men were attempting to get it up the stairs with Marc, my girlfriend and I were on a mission to find sheets to match our bedding. (What seemed like such an easy task took us at least 2 hours and trips to several stores.)

Here is the end result

Pardon the wrinkles - I swear we took it right out of the dryer when it was done so I don't really know how it got so wrinkled.

The nursery is good to go!

A big thank you goes out to Annette who came over to whip Marc and I into shape and get the nursery ready. Gus will be living in style with his brand new crib and dresser/change table.

I'll take pictures soon.

Things are looking up.

The non-stress test went fine and Gus is good. His heartrate was great - around 130-140 beats per minute and he was kicking up a storm. I ate two cadbury cream eggs on the way to make sure he would be active - not the most healthy, but damn tasty.
I was there for about 30 minutes and watched the end of Gilmour Girls and the beginning of Veronica Mars on tv there.

Marc told me if it didn't go well and they tried to keep me, I was supposed to run.

AND Marc just walked in the room with the crib and changetable/dresser which arrived yesterday! Let the laundry begin. :)

I may need to change my ticker...

I had another ultrasound appointment today. The ultrasound showed my fluid levels decreased again to 9.00 (low is considered 8 so I am at the border.) They also told me that my last day in the office should be tomorrow. (This caused me to freak out as I was supposed to have another 2 weeks and am a little bit screwed...) - I got them to okay me working from home though.

Gus is looking good. He weighs 5 lb 12 oz and is tall. Other than the fluid levels all is well. The ultrasound doctor was more concerned than my OB. She was saying that she thought I would be induced next week. (!) He seemed to think that as long as everything else was okay I would be able to go a little bit longer. His goal is now 37 weeks - which is a week and a half away.

I have a non-stress test scheduled for Sat, another ultrasound on Monday - which will likely tell me when I will be induced, and then a follow up doctor's appointment on Tues with my OB.

Have I mentioned that ALL of our nursery furniture is delayed and that we are so far behind?

One day at a time right?

The latest belly pics

So when my mother was in town this weekend, I borrowed her camera to take a few belly pics. Pardon the weird expression on my face. This is at 34 weeks and 3 days.

And just for fun - a compilation of all the pics to date. The last pic doesn't really show how big I am feeling. It looks like the top part of my stomach has filled out. (It may be a bit fuzzy so just click on it.)

Nuts

I really wish I could find our camera so that I could post some new belly pics. Alas it is in one of the unpacked boxes either in our room or in the guest bedroom. And Gus is definitely growing...
