Gus is like Polkaroo

We had another ultrasound today and Gus is growing like a weed. He weighed in at 4.8 lbs which is up almost a full pound from 2 weeks ago. The doctor said his head was the right size and he wasn't freakishly tall :). Hi Polkaroo like tendencies show up as he continues to hide behind my placenta so we can never really get a good look at him. He got all of his showmanship out at the 18 week point I guess.

They still might induce me 1-2 weeks early as my amniotic fluid level went back down to 11.9. It's still in the 33rd percentile, but you never know. The goal now is 38 weeks.

He is also all crammed in on my left side, to a point that when I was lying on the table, my stomach was lopsided. Made me laugh.

We've been tagged!

I was tagged by Chelle and Polkaroo so I have to list 5 things that people may not know about Marc and I. Then I have to tag five other people.

  1. My middle name is Margaret.
  2. I like to eat bananas with a spoonful of peanut butter. (I picked it up from my mom.)
  3. Marc like motorcycles.
  4. I've lived in the US for half of my life and Canada for the other half.
  5. I want to learn Italian.

A Gus update

Things are going well. The ultrasound today showed he is 3 lbs 9 oz and going strong. He was kicking up a storm and moving all around. My amniotic fluid levels are back to the middle of normal (which is good) and it means I won't have to be induced 3 weeks early anymore. (Woo hoo!!!)

The ultrasound doc kept telling us that the baby was very well endowed for his size which made Marc's day. His job was to take notes during the ultrasound (for important things like heart rate, size, weight etc). The majority of notes he took had to do with the size of Gus' boy bits. You just have to laugh.

Honey, we're home!

Well, we have finally arrived to our new house. I have no idea how we have so much stuff. We threw out over 20 bags of garbage and gave at least 10 bags to Goodwill. We ended up with a full Discount truck and a trailer, a truck, a minivan (in 2 trips - the other one today) and then a couple things in our cars. I was very good at directing and not lifting but I have to say it kills me to not lift things. The house is ever so slowly getting unpacked. Gramma's room is pretty much good to go (which is helpful given that I have to train a new Gramma-sitter tomorrow.) Home Depot seems to be sold out everywhere of the phone jacks we want so it might be a little while until we actually get our landline in.

I am so happy here and I can't believe that we lucked out with the weather. It was cold on Sat, but it didn't snow until Sunday after we were all moved in.

We are super lucky to have amazing friends and family who helped us pack, move in, start the unpacking and continuously offer support. Thank you to everyone.

Some new belly pics!

So I am a bit late with my 28 week shots as these are 30 week shots. (Oops.)

My stomach is definitely bigger. At our last ultrasound the doctor said that Gus is 2 lb 11 oz and 13 inches long from head to toes.

How I wish I had a magic wand

With one flick of my wrist I could have all of the packing done. Sigh...wouldn't that be nice! I swear Marc and I did so much this weekend and yet there is still so much to do. We did manage to get 8 bags of stuff for Goodwill and about 16 bags of garbage on top of all of the stuff we packed. Little by little I know we will get it done, but I can't wait until it is over and we are in the new house.

I dont' even want to think about unpacking...

The house is done!

We took my parents to see the house the other day and they were as happy with it as we are. They haven't really finished all of the exterior yet (they still have to paint the garage doors) but we are really pleased.

My brother and mother. Notice how close my mom is to the vent. We had just turned on the heat so it was really cold in the house except for right there. :)
