Belly Pics 24 Weeks and 1 Day

So here are some new belly pictures. Pardon my expression - I'm tired. :) I think the dent is going away slowly.

Gus is a sneaky little guy.

We had an ultrasound this morning and Gus just didn't want to show us his face (or anything else for that matter.)

He was essentially folded in half with his feet and hands in front of his face. His fingers and toes were cute though. Everytime we tried to get a good shot of his face, he would wave his hands in front. When I asked the doctor to once again confirm that Gus was a boy, he moved his leg down so it was blocking all appendage shots. (Cheeky little bugger!) We did see that he has nice long legs. He also weighs 1 lb 4 oz.

We are going to go for another ultrasound in January as the doctor couldn't really measure anything as Gus wouldn't cooperate.

It takes so little to amuse me.

I just smile when I see this image. I can hear the Sugar Plum Fairy song in my head.

Funny little ticker

I know I have a countdown ticker at the top of the blog for Gus' arrival, but this ticker I came across just amuses me. The sayings change weekly and they tend to be quite humorous.

Oh The Pain!!

I woke up at 5:00 this morning with what can only be described as searing pain in my left calf. The whole calf muscle cramped up with such intensity that I cried out in pain, scared the heck out Marc and couldn't move. Marc had to massage my leg as frankly I just couldn't move. It was horrible. And to think... I am sure this is just a fraction of what labour will be like. It doesn't bode well for me.

Feeling lots of little "bloops"

I'm feeling Gus more often now. The feeling is what can only be described as a "bloop." Like the sensation of having a goldfish swim in your stomach.

Gus is apparently wrinkled like Gramma

I am 22 weeks today and I just wanted to post an update on what they say Gus should be like:

The baby now weighs almost one pound, measures nearly 11 inches/ just over 27 centimetres long from crown to heel, and is proportioned like a newborn, albeit a thinner version since his baby fat hasn't yet developed. Although he's getting heavier every day, his skin still appears wrinkled because he needs to gain more weight. The lips are distinct and the eyes are formed, though the iris (the coloured part of the eye) still lacks pigment. The pancreas, essential in the production of hormones, is developing steadily.

Even this early, the first signs of teeth appear in the form of tooth buds beneath the gum line. Before you know it, your baby will be born, and soon after, his first teeth will come through.

This is my favourite part:
You've probably gained between 12 and 15 pounds( Aha!!!!!) Starting now, you'll begin to put on weight more steadily, averaging about half a pound per week.

I feel better about my 11-13 pounds gained so far now.

I may have felt a flutter last night but who knows?

Some house updates

So our favourite guy at the builder's office managed to get them to follow through with putting the stone back on our house along the bottom like it was supposed to (and like we paid for.)

This is what our house should look like but we paid extra to have brick instead of panelling.

Glad that is all sorted out and I have to say I really love this guy at the builder's office. What a testament to quality customer service - so much so that I am writing his boss a letter.

On another note, our kitchen has apparently not been delivered yet. (I am assuming this means our cupboards.) This means that we might not be in by Dec. 21 but I am hoping. Keep your fingers crossed!

Random amusement.

When we were in Las Vegas we went into a store called The Stupid Factory and this shirt made me laugh nonstop.

OB Appointment

So Gus is apparently doing well. I haven't really felt much movement, but my OB assured me that it was okay. He said that 16-20 weeks is on average when people feel the baby move, but it is just an average. The heartbeat was nice and strong and my ultrasounds are all good. My IPS was less than 1:20,000. He measured from my pelvic bone to top of my uterus and said it was smaller than normal but that last month's was too and since my ultrasounds are okay not to worry.

Some weight gain (grumble grumble) but that's okay. I blame Las Vegas. :)

So all is well in Gus-land.

Belly Pics at 20 Weeks 1 Day!

I thought I would post some new ones. :)

Halfway there!

I'm 20 weeks as of today! Apparently, the baby is around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel.
